27 January 2025 – Glory – Part 6

Isaiah 60:1-3 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

The glory of the Lord is the nature of the Lord God that will arise and shine through our lives. Glory Light was visible on Moses when he came down the mountain after spending time with God. “When Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him” (Exodus 34:30). The “Glory Light” is not a ‘hallow’ that we see in the portrait of saints; it is Christ-likeness, godliness and holiness that would radiate through our lifestyle.

Moses put a veil over His face as the children of God were afraid of the “glory light” shining through him. The same glory light that brought conviction in the hearts of the Israelites will bring conviction in the darkened hearts of our colleagues, coffee mates and comrades.

Let the glory light shine in the dark world:

1.         Spot-Light: The glory light will bring the spot-light on us. The spot-light of “honesty” will shine bright in a world filled with deception and darkness. We will be known and recognized for our honesty in our workplace and community.

2.         Flash-Light: A transparent lifestyle with no hidden agendas, no ulterior motives or opportunistic behaviour, will turn the flashlight of “holiness” on us. As the best player of the team will become the focus of any game, our holiness and integrous lifestyle in obscurity will turn heaven’s flashlight on us.

3.         Glory-Light: The “glory light” is the godly nature that shines in the dark, secular and inclusive world that we live in. People around us will be convicted and the reverential fear of the Lord will grip their heart as the “glory light” of God’s goodness and godliness gleams through us. Different ethnicities, communities and authorities will be attracted to the “glory light” of “godliness” that shines through us.

We must choose to live lifestyles that will attract the glory light on us.

Prayer: Glorious Father, I choose to live in humility, honesty and holiness to radiate your glory light to the world. Amen.
