28 January 2025 – Glory – Part 7

1 Corinthians 3:18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

As we gaze into the goodness, graciousness and gentleness of our Saviour, we will be transformed from glory to glory. As our human nature dies and godliness replaces our carnal cravings the “glory glow” of Christ Jesus will reflect through our lives. The “glory glow” gets brighter and brighter as we walk closer and closer with Christ Jesus. God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Christ Jesus is our hope of glory.

We are only conduits of God’s glory/nature. Christ in us is the “glory glow”. We are like the moon reflecting the rays of the sun. Moon does not produce light on its own but acts as a giant mirror bouncing back the light of the Sun. The moonlight is brighter and brighter as the Moon’s face tilts more and more towards the Sun. Likewise, we will be in darkness outside Christ Jesus but as we reflect on God’s holiness/glory/character His light will glow/shine through us.

Living under the “glory cloud” of God’s guidance will clothe us in the “glory garments” and transform us into His image. As we gaze into His holiness, there will be a pigment transformation of “glory glow”.

Our ‘glory glow’ gets brighter as we get closer to Jesus:

1.         Gaze: Meditating on the omnipotence and omniscience of the Lord will enlighten and empower us with His glory/nature. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory (Psalm 63:2).

2.         Grow: Imitating Christ will grow His nature, His goodness and His character in us. We grow into Christ-likeness and transform from glory to glory as we live under the glory cloud of His presence.

3.         Glow: As our selfish ambitions, selfishness and self-centeredness dies, the ‘glory glow’ will get brighter and brighter.

The glory of God is His very nature, and as we live under the ‘glory cloud’ we will radiate the ‘glory glow’ of His goodness, graciousness and gentleness.

Prayer: Gracious Father, teach me to live under the presence of the cloud of your glory, and radiate the ‘glory glow’ of your nature to the world. Amen.
