Leviticus 14:2 “These are the regulations for any diseased person at the time of their ceremonial cleansing, when they are brought to the priest:”
In ancient times, leprosy was a deadly incurable disease that not only killed a human physically but also emotionally. Once leprosy was diagnosed, the infected person was ostracized. They were torn apart from their families and their communities and confined to a “leper colony” where they were left to rot and die! Before Jesus died on the cross, the blood of animals could not cleanse a leper. The blood of animals was shed only for the atonement of sins, not for the healing of the body, soul or mind.
AD, Jesus died not only for our sins but also for our sickness. By His wounds you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24b). Leprosy is also the allegory for sin that infects the souls and kills the spirit. As leprosy was eradicated from the face of the earth, the blood of Jesus completely exterminates the infection of sin and sickness. The power of the blood of Jesus is more powerful than the infection or addiction of sin.
BC, when a leper touches us we will be infected but AD, when a believer (Child of God) touches the infected, the infection will heal and disappear.
The power of the blood in AD:
1. Infection: The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any sickness, diseases or addiction. Medically, we might receive an incurable diagnosis, but spiritually, the blood of Jesus can completely set us free.
2. Influence: The blood of Jesus not only cleanses us from sin but makes us influential. The blood of Jesus breaks addictions and turns us into influencers to help others overcome the trap of addictions and compulsive disorders.
3. Infusion: Faith infuses the power of the blood into our spiritual system. Do not say, “I can never overcome this addition, habit or weakness.” Plead the blood. The blood of Jesus is more powerful than the controlling habit.
BC, the blood of animals was not the antidote to sickness; it was only the atonement for sin. But AD, the blood of Jesus gives us the power to overcome sin, sickness and addictions.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, make me a conqueror by thy blood. Amen.
