12 March 2025 – Prayer Stations – Part 1

Exodus 27:16 “For the entrance to the courtyard, provide a curtain twenty cubits long, of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer—with four posts and four bases”.

The tabernacle of Moses is the blueprint of the prayer plan that can guide us from the outer court to the most intimate dwelling place of God’s Most Holy Place. The Tabernacle is the prototype for our prayer routine. The Old Testament believers entered through the gate of the tabernacle which was a finely embroidered linen curtain of blue, purple and scarlet.  The linen yarn twisted with blue, purple and scarlet, represents the divinity, royalty and the blood of Jesus and serves as a reminder to accentuate the nature of God. Following the tabernacle pattern of prayer will guide us from the porch to the throne of the Lord’s Holy presence in the Most Holy Place.

Our first prayer station is the gate. The gate of the entrance was rightly named by the rabbinical tradition as “The Way”. Jesus is the gate. Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep (John 10:7). Praise, thanksgiving and worship would reveal Jesus at the gate to us. The swipe card to enter the gate is thanksgiving and praise. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name (Psalm 100:4). We praise Him for His greatness and worship Him for His goodness. Meet Jesus at the gate and lock your hands into His nail pierced hands.

Prayer Station-1:

1.         Extol: Jesus is waiting to meet and embrace us at the gate, behind the embroidered curtain. A song of praise or a psalm of worship will draw Jesus to us. Don’t ignore Him.

2.         Exalt: Once we meet Him we cannot take our eyes off Him or stop exalting and adoring Him.

3.         Enthrall: Our prayer journey will be captivated by His presence as soon as we meet Him at the gate. He will gently guide us into His sweet Holy presence.

Once we meet Jesus at the gate our prayer time will be enthralling and hours will be like seconds in our prayer closet.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, teach me to follow the pattern of the tabernacle prayer and be embellished with your presence every day. Amen.
