Exodus 12:7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
The Lord God brought Israel out of bondage and slavery from Egypt through a ‘bloody door’. Before the last plague devoured all the first born males of Egypt, the Lord gave them an ordinance to take a one-year old male lamb, slaughter it and apply the blood on top and the sides of the doorframes. The blood was the sign of redemption and protection on their houses. This is a beautiful analogy of the deliverance from slavery, sin, addictions and curses.
The Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament. The symbols and shadows of the Old Testament are the reality of the New Testament. The only way of deliverance from sin, repeated transgressions and iniquities is through the bloody of Jesus. Addictions, bloodline curses and consequences of our own iniquities can be broken only with the blood. The blood of Jesus is the only antidote that can heal, deliver and redeem. However, the blood has to be applied to break the yoke of slavery of sin and the mental and emotional oppression. Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe (Exodus 12:22). Apply the blood over your mind and mouth, and over your heart and hand. The doors to our soul must be slathered with the blood of Jesus.
The Bloody Door:
1. Brush: Like dipping the hyssop into the basin and applying on the door, we must spiritually apply the blood of Jesus on bondages that are incarcerating and arresting our progress. Brush the blood over addictive habits, depressing thought patterns, and bondages, and break its yoke.
2. Break: The Pharaoh’s heart repeatedly hardened until the blood was applied on the door. The blood broke the bondage of slavery. The spirit of pharaoh is an oppressing spirit that represses us, but the blood will break its neck.
3. Blood: The blood of Jesus is the most powerful weapon we possess. Dip into the basin and apply the blood.
The bloody door will break bondages.
Prayer: Precious Jesus, teach me to apply the blood and break bondages and the yoke of slavery. Amen.
