Isaiah 22:22 “I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open”.
The book of Isaiah is a book of prophecies about the Messiah. Jesus fulfilled 324 Messianic prophecies that are included in the book of Isaiah. Jesus snatched the keys to hell from satan through His death and disarmed the powers of sin, death and the grave. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). The devil and his demons have no authority over a child of God. However, by our own folly, fear or frenzy we can open the door to the diabolical gangsters to invade our lives and take control.
The resurrection of Jesus opened the door to eternal life. The empty tomb is our evidence that we have authority over the powers of hell (Matthew 28:1-3). The Pharisees attempted to fabricate stories to conceal the truth about the resurrection of Jesus, but they failed miserably. Jesus has given us the key to open doors and close doors. “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). Open the door for heaven to invade earth.
The Keys to Open and Close Doors:
1. Tongue: Our tongue is the key that will open and shut doors. A truthful tongue will open the door to divine favour whereas a lying tongue will lead to destruction. Praise will open the door to divine favour while complaining will open the door wide for the demons to intrude and insurrect.
2. Touch: There is anointing in our touch. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mark 16:18b). Our hands must refrain from touching anything that will distort our purity.
3. Testimony: Our testimony opens the door to eternal life. But many of those who had heard the word believed (Acts 4:4).
Our tongue, touch and testimony open the door to the kingdom of heaven and shut the door to the kingdom of darkness.
Prayer: King Jesus, may your resurrection power flow through my tongue, touch and testimony to open the door to eternal life and shut the door to hell. Amen.
