30 April 2025 – Miracle Minded – Part 1

John 6:6 Jesus asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

The mind is the faculty of understanding and perception. The mind is our intellect, logical reasoning, and belief system, and the seat of our choices and decision making. The shaping of our mind is absolutely essential for our spiritual understanding and perceptions. The orientation of our mind depends on biological, psychological, sociological, and environmental factors; however, the mind can be rewired by conscious corrections and renewing. Factual thinking will make us intelligent and reactive, but faith oriented thinking will make us integrous and proactive.

After a daylong retreat in a remote place, Jesus decides to serve the hungry crowd a meal before they leave. So Jesus asked the logical thinker Philip, where the dinner could be ordered but Philip replied that even ½ a year’s wage will not feed them a bite (John 6:5&7). Jesus did not ask him how much it would cost, He only asked him for catering suggestions. Jesus already had the miracle on His mind. He was bubbling with the anointing to multiply the 5 loaves and 2 fishes but wanted to test the disciple to see if he was ‘logical-minded’ or ‘miracle-minded’.

The mind of Christ did not see the crisis or the calamity, He saw the miracle. The lack, shortage, and peril create room for the miracle. The miracle-minded will not see the famine, they will see the feast; they will not see the paucity, they will perceive plenty. Miracle minded will not see petty but will only be able to perceive bounty.

The Miracle-Minded create room for the miracle in calamity and adversity.

Miracle Minded Thinking:

1.         Crisis: Miracle-minds do not see the crisis; they see the miracle. Miracle-minded will see an opportunity through adversity.

2.         Calamity: The miracle-minded will not see the famine; they will see the feast. They will not see the calamity or paucity, but divine plenty.

3.         Create: The miracle-minded will not be fazed by the shortage but will create room for abundance in the midst of scarcity.

Reset your mindset to miracle-minded thinking. God’s got this!

Prayer: Father God, help me to believe that even before I knew about the problem, you had the miracle on your mind. Amen.
