05 May 2025 – Miracle Minded – Part 6

James 5:17 Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!

Our attitude determines the altitude of our miracles and breakthroughs. The attitude of the miracle-minded ordains their thoughts, talk and walk. The miracle-minded will never wallow in fear and self-pity. They will not waste their time in fruitless talk nor futile efforts but invest their time in faith, fasting and fervent prayer. Attitude is a person’s way of thinking and feeling about something which impacts their behaviour. A person with a negative attitude will lose passion and will become pessimistic in their approach and actions. However, the miracle-minded are geared up with a positive attitude. They are optimistic as they know that their faith is backed by heaven. Their behaviour is directed by their belief.

“Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier” – Colin Powel.

Elijah was an interesting prophet. He was bold and budged to no one. He did not sit back watching the wickedness of King Ahab and his wife Jezebel. He called the king for an open challenge and annihilated the magicians who were the ‘so called’ counselors of King and his pervert Queen. The Bible says that Elijah was an ordinary man like you and me but had an extraordinary attitude and unwavering faith. He had access to the throne of God hence his attitude was bold and boisterous. The scriptures do not delineate the details but the audacious faith to face a fierce and evil king came from his close communion with the Lord. Elijah knew that when he prayed the Lord listened and answered.

The miracle-minded have a positive attitude rooted in the promises of God. They know that when they pray they have the backing of heaven. Their attitude is not influenced by reality but by God’s sovereignty.

Miracle-Minded Attitudes:

1.             Believe: Our attitude is a ‘choice’ – Choose faith, not fear. “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Mark 5:36). Miracle-minded attitude chooses to believe and not doubt.

2.         Bold: Boldness is an attitude, not a trait.

3.         Behaviour: Our attitude will transform the behaviour to miracle-minded mannerisms.

The miracle-minded have a positive attitude rooted in the promises of God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, teach me and coach me to reset my mind to a miracle-minded and optimistic attitude. Amen.
