17 June 2025 – Convictions and Conversations – Part 7

Joshua 14:7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions.

“God sees our heart and hears our conversations”

What we consistently believe and meditate on shapes our convictions and forms our belief system. The things that we are constantly thinking about are making a permanent mark on our cerebral cortex. Hence what we meditate on becomes our conviction and our convictions drive our confessions and conduct.

The Lord God looks at our convictions and our conversations closely before He entrusts blessings and miracles to us. Those who believe in facts and declare disbelief restrict the hand of God. On the other hand, when we allow faith to shape and reshape our convictions and confess the authority and power over a situation, we will experience the miraculous mighty hand of God. Miracles are a result of our convictions and conversations.

God was listening to the reports of the twelve spies who went to spy the Promised Land. The Lord heard the ten who gave a disheartening report that terrified the people but He also witnessed Joshua and Caleb who declared faith. Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it” (Numbers 13:30). They encouraged the people, “Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. (Numbers 14:9a). The Lord accounted this conversation as righteousness to Joshua and Caleb. The Lord gave Caleb the mountainous territory as a possession after 45 years. Caleb was 40 years old when he spied the land but was 85 years old when he took possession. The conviction and bold confession of Caleb brought the blessing of the flourishing land of Hebron.

Convictions and conversations:

1.         Conviction: Meditate on the Word of God until it becomes your conviction and zeal.

2.         Confession: Confess faith not facts or fear.

3.         Conduct: Our conviction and confession will direct our conduct.

The conviction of our heart and the confessions and conversations are the conduit to our miracle.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, I will drive out all fear and will meditate on your Word and confess it with my mouth. Amen.
