Galatians 3:13 Christ purchased our freedom and redeemed us from the curse of the Law and its condemnation by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs/[crucified] on a tree/(cross)”.
Above All Curses
The causes of curses can be categorized under three main heads – Curses as a result of witchcraft, sorcery or black magic; Self-imposed curses by unethical/immoral choices and self proclaimed curses. Dabbling with the occult, promiscuous, prideful and covetousness opens the door to curses or activates dormant generational curses. Curses are like blessings and bank balances, which transfer with the ‘family will’, from generation to generation until they are broken with the blood of Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, He crushed the curses and took victory over the consequences of iniquities. All principalities, powers and wicked forces were defeated by His precious pure blood. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church (Ephesians 1:22). The demonic principalities and rulers are under His feet however, we see many Christians under the clutches of curses.
To subdue the curses, self-imposed or generational, we must be spiritually seated with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places. This means that we must switch positions from the terrestrial to the celestial. We must rise above our human limitations, sins, guilt and shame and exercise the power of His blood. There is no curse, witchcraft or omen that cannot be defeated by the blood of Jesus.
We are Above All Curses:
1. Perspective: Witches, warlocks and wicked forces tremble at a child of God who knows their authority. So, change your perspective about curses; the spiritual forces of wickedness are under the feet of a blood protected child of God.
2. Position: Our position as the sons/daughters of God covered by the blood of Jesus will rout the curses sent against us. The blood and the Bible will defeat the envious eyes, demonic chants or devious sorcery.
3. Power: Purity and piety gives us power over all the demonic powers of hell. The power of hell is no comparison to the authority we have in Christ Jesus.
Our purity, spiritual perspective and position render hell, demons and curses powerless.
Prayer: Precious Jesus, change my perspective and coach me to exercise my authority I have over curses, witchcraft and evil forces. Amen.
