Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
There is a constant battle that goes on in the spiritual realm between good and evil, truth and deception, purity and perversion, love and hatred, peace and violence, generosity and greed, prosperity and poverty, health and sickness, joy and sorrow. The unseen spiritual realm is a battlefield between the angels of heaven and the demonic spirits of hell.
The moment we accept Christ Jesus we have the mighty forces of heaven backing us. From the time we give our lives to Jesus, hell will fight tooth and nail to pluck us away into the dark side of sin, sickness and shame. So, spiritual warfare is not something that happens on and off; we will be in this battle as long as we have breath in our nostrils. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Hence we must always be ready to defend and protect our heart and mind from demonic intruders.

The devil schemes to falter our faith, drain our hope and steal our joy. The most important requirement to progress in our spiritual journey is to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Food and water are essential for growth in the natural world. Similarly, we grow strong as we devour God’s Word. God’s Word helps us to grow spiritually strong, wise and courageous to defeat the attacking evil forces. Further the anointing, His mighty power is absolutely essential. Anointing comes upon us like a cloak of superpower to retaliate and rout the demonic mob.
Spiritual Warfare – Ready to Rout:
1. Word: God’s Word hidden in our heart becomes the strength to our blood, bones and body. So memorize, mull over and meditate on God’s Word day-in and day-out.
2. Win: Have a winning mindset. We are not fighting for victory but from victory.
3. Worship: Worship endows us with the anointing that breaks the yoke.
Be strengthened with His Word and clothed with the anointing to advance spiritually.
Prayer: Almighty Father, teach me the techniques to defeat the schemes of the devil and to progress spiritually. Amen.
