31 August 2025 – The Good Fight – Part 5

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

“A good fight is a winning fight.”

A good fight in the spiritual realm begins with faith confessions”. Our tongue is the weapon that shoots like missiles into hell and defeats the demons. Our mouth and lips send shock waves into the diabolical strongholds. However, most spiritual battles do not progress or are slowed down by our own negative, fearful and wrong confessions.

Before the shepherd boy David struck the giant with the slingshot and a stone, he killed him with words. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel (1 Kings 17:46). To the eyes of the world, David killed the giant with a stone that sunk into his temple but in the spiritual realm, his words blasted through like drone bombs and mutilated the blaspheming and deleterious giant.

Our strategy for a good fight is to fight with words of wisdom. “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence” (Proverbs 10:11). Uncontrolled tongue and unleashed words will stop progress and success. Wisdom is God’s thoughts on any issue. So, thinking, believing and speaking wisdom simply means meditating, trusting and declaring God’s Word over any situation. Respond to the thoughts of fear and threats of misfortune with Spirit-taught words (1 Corinthians 2:13). Dreadful thoughts are fiery arrows from hell to quench our faith. Attack them with your faith-confessions.

Good Fight:

1.            Controlled: Misusing the tongue is like mishandling sharp weapons. It can hurt, bruise and even cause death. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1).

2.            Calm: The moderation or voracity of words is the conclusive evidence of our spiritual maturity. Be calm.

3.      Cautious: Tongue is the sword that sabotages the demonic plans. Refrain from speaking words of dread or death; instead, declare life, success, and progress.

Tongue is our weapon in a good fight.

Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, give me a Spirit-taught tongue and words of wisdom to fight the good fight. Amen.
