John11:39 “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
In God’s economy “clocks, calendar and calculators” start and stop at God’s command.
God’s calendar and God’s clock never misses an appointment and is never too late. Our ways are not His ways, or our thoughts His thoughts. However, many times we tend to think that God has got His timing wrong. When the answer is delayed, He is working on the mighty miracle. When the days of struggle seem to move too slowly, God’s skillful hands are fashioning the vessel of our soul with meekness and holiness to receive His divine gift. We are not waiting in vain, we are being trained.
Jesus heard about the sickness of His good friend Lazarus and waited for two more days and made His way slowly to Bethany. Jesus slowed down and waited until three days after Lazarus was dead and buried. He purposely arrived on the 4th day as the Jews believed that the soul of the dead would linger near the body for up to three days after death. On the 4th day after it was confirmed that Lazarus was not in a coma but was dead Jesus arrived to do the astounding miracle of raising the dead man alive. The clock and the calendar of Jesus never miss a beat of God’s plan and God’s will.
When it seems that God has overlooked our calendar and plans, it simply means we’re on schedule to fulfill God’s purpose. God is always on time; He is never too late.
Clocks, Calendar & Calculators:
1. Timing: God does not have the traditional timepiece of analogue clocks in heaven; His clock and His timing moves with His Word.
2. Testing: The test that you are in is an opportunity to grow your faith. In the stretch is the growth. He is not late; He is waiting for us to grow. Growth happens in the gap.
3. Training: In the furnace of waiting the fruit of patience, peace and perseverance is developed and our character is trained and the soul is forged.
“God never misses His clock or His calendar. Waiting forges our character.”
Prayer: Father God, Help me to trust you in the timing in the middle of the test. Amen.
