“The spirit of deception”
The spirit of deception is like a sweet dish laced with deadly poison. Like a slithering snake deception has crept into the world and has permeated into every walk of life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth but the spirit of error/(lies) is the spirit of antichrist that sows disbelief, discord and dissension. Anyone who rejects the truth – the resurrection of Christ, and the redemption of sins through His blood, is controlled by the spirit of deception. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error (1 John 4:6). Such people, pervert grace and misuse it as a license for immorality.
The spirits of deception twist the truth for their personal gains and gratify the cravings of their evil desires. These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage (Jude 16).
The spirit of deception will blind the eyes to God’s grace and sow division, disobedience and dishonour in the hearts of those who yield to this spirit. Yoga as a ‘health-gig’ is a spirit of deception
The spirit of deception:
- Division: Stay away from people groups who cause division in the body of Christ. I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them (Romans 16:17). Deception divides families, communities and churches.
- Defiant: This spirit of deception justifies homosexuality, euthanasia and abortion under the banner of grace and love. This spirit vouches disobedience and defiance to the Word of God.
- Dishonesty: Deception infuriates ‘grumbling’ and ‘fault finding’ by blinding the eyes to “the truth”. This spirit isolates precepts from the Word of God to pursue their personal agenda and evil desires. Boasting and flattering will also be the visible and audible evidence. Deception leaves footprints of dishonesty.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, help me to discern the spirit of deception and crush its head before it bites my heel. Amen.
