09 December 2025 – Who said so? – Part 7

Exodus 4:10  Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

God qualifies the unqualified, disqualified and inadequate to accomplish His plan on earth. The discourse of Moses with the Lord God of the heavens and the earth is a very interesting and intriguing one. In the dialogue, we notice Moses trying his best to wiggle out of his calling. He gives excuses, expresses his inabilities and apprehension when the Lord appoints him and commissions him as the deliverer for His people in captivity. The conversation reveals the lack of confidence and insecurities of Moses. The fear of being rejected by his people again, the dread of facing the Pharaoh from whom he fled 40 years ago and probably the eloquence and etiquette that he lost after living in the wilderness for four decades, were exposed. No one can give excuses to the Lord. He always has an answer and a way out for our pretext.

The words of people might have damaged our self-image or our past mistakes might have marred our self-esteem. Stigma that we carry or the shame that is hidden in our heart and the fear of rejection can discourage us from accomplishing our purpose and calling. When guilt or condemnation steals our confidence and fear blurs the vision of our future, we must ask ourselves this question – “Who said so”? Who said that you are not talented, skilled or qualified? Who said that you are not worthy, anointed or valuable? Who said God can’t use you?

We are precious, valuable and priceless in the eyes of God.

  1. Worth: A quiet spirit is of great value to the Lord. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:4). Inner beauty is precious.
  2. Wisdom: Wisdom is wealth. Humility and fear of the Lord is wisdom (Proverbs 11:2&9:10).  Gain Wisdom.
  3. Workmanship: We are God’s workmanship.  Demolish the voice and noise of hell and haters and gird yourself with courage.

God calls the unqualified and He qualifies the disqualified.

Prayer: Father God, help me to defeat the demeaning words of hell and haters and build my confidence in you and your love. Amen
