23 December 2025 – Enlightened Eyes – Part 7

Acts 7:55-56 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

The anointing of the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of our heart to see into the spiritual realm. Stephen, the first martyr of the early church was able to see through the heavens into the throne room of God and Jesus standing at His right hand as he was stoned to death. When we stand up to exalt the name of Jesus and to preach the message of salvation, we are not standing alone, King Jesus is standing with us. Stephen was not afraid to die. He lived for his purpose and fulfilled his calling as his eyes were enlightened.

It is imperative that we make Paul’s prayer our daily confession to live a fruitful life. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe (Ephesians 1:18-19a). Once our spiritual eyes are opened our perspectives and the passion that drives our decisions will be aligned with God’s thoughts and plans.

Enlightened Spiritual Eyes will be opened to the truth about their purpose, possessions and the power of God:

  1. Purpose: Those who are enlightened spiritually will know the hope of their calling. The truth behind salvation, forgiveness and redemption will become the substratum of our faith and we will be purpose-driven.
  2. Possession: The riches of the glorious inheritance are the innumerable promises in the Word of God. The enlightened will possess and inherit the promises just as it is written – they will walk with boldness that whatever they do will prosper, they will be the head and not the tail and healing is the children’s bread.
  3. Power: The enlightened eyes will walk in His incredibly great power. The Greater One lives in them and that He has the final say on any matter and the power of the blood and His name.

Enlightened hearts change our perspective to live purposefully.

Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, enlighten my heart so that I may possess and partake in the divine inheritance.  Amen.
