Exodus 15:25 Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them.
Happy and Blessed New Year!
A new year is a fresh start. It brings newness to our life and refreshes our expectations and hope. However, the New Year will be no different to the year 2025 if we do not renew our minds. Renewing means clicking the refresh button and revitalizing the soul. To renew is to take a fresh look at the challenges through the lens of the Almighty. It is to change our attitude and approach and refuse to focus on the problem but to break through the dark clouds by standing on the promises.
Moses led the people out of bondage and the Lord opened the Red Sea for His children to escape the Pharaoh’s army. However, as soon as they finished singing songs of praise to the Lord God, they faced a crisis. They ran out of drinking water and the water that they found was bitter. Immediately, the people started grumbling and complaining to Moses. God showed Moses the Miracle Tree that transformed the bitter water sweet drinkable water!
Life is bitter-sweet; after a praise-party there will be a peril lurking in the corner. Don’t be alarmed. The test is for us to taste and see the goodness and greatness of our God. The streams in Marah were bitter but the Miracle Tree turned it sweet. The cross of Calvary is the Miracle Tree that will turn our bitter trials into transformational breakthroughs and testimonies. The blood that flows from the cross cleanses sin, shame and stigma. The bleeding wound of Christ on the cross is the healing antidote and the cross is the conduit of restoration.
The cross brings transformational breakthroughs:
- Renew: Don’t focus on your problems; take a fresh look at the promises. Renew your mind to trust the promises.
- Reset: Forget the former things. Put the past behind and press the reset button.
- Refresh: Refresh your mind by developing good habits. Replace worry with worship.
The Cross is the “Miracle Tree” that turns a bitter mishap, mess, mistake, sweet.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to renew my mind to experience transformational breakthroughs in 2026. Amen.
