02 January 2026 – Transformational Breakthroughs – Part 2

2 Kings 2: 21-22 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

The quality and the composition of the water will determine the productivity of a land. Water that is contaminated by industrial waste, sewage or oil spills can pollute the water and make the land unproductive.

Prophet Elisha entered a town and the people came and pleaded with him to heal the water. They said that the water was bad and hence the land is unproductive. Elisha used salt as a purifier to heal the water. Scientifically salt is a purifier. Salt kills many kinds of bacteria by drawing the moisture out. Metaphorically, salt is the Word of God that purifies our mind and sanctifies our soul. Repeating scriptures and meditating on God’s Word that breaks fear, anxiety, anger, envy and perversion would be like throwing salt on our soul to preserve purity.

“Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings.” (Leviticus 2:13). Similarly, we cannot offer praise and worship as an offering without dedication, consecration and sanctification. Purity is the trail for transformational breakthrough and faithfulness makes us useful and fruitful.

Purity is the pathway to transformational breakthroughs:

  1. Pollutants: Get rid of pollutants and people who contaminate purity, faithfulness and dedication. It need not necessarily be a bad habit but even wasting time scrolling through reels can pollute our mind and mouth. Engagements, conversations and practices that pollute the mind must be purged from our life.
  2. Purify: Purity is a choice and purity is powerful. Purity makes our stand with the Lord firm and our resilience against the attacks of hell powerful.
  3. Perpetuate: Perpetuate productivity. Elisha threw salt in the water to make it pure. Growth and productivity are intentional. We must labour to shut every door that corrupts our thinking with fear, offence or pride and allow the Word of God to preserve purity and godliness.

The Word of God is the soul-cleansing preservative to transformational breakthroughs.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, help me to meditate on scriptures that preserves  and protects purity.  Amen.
