23 February 2026 – Breakthroughs – Part 5

Proverbs 42:10 The Lord restored Job’s prosperity after he prayed for his friends. The Lord doubled everything that Job had once possessed.

Breakthrough is not an ordinary advancement or a step forward. It is a dramatic advancement and a dynamic progression breaking demonic barriers and demolishing the diabolical strongholds.

Job was a very well known, highly respected wealthy, godly businessman. However, calamity struck him and catastrophe swept away his children, wealth and health in one day. When everyone around him, even his closest friends pronounced the end of Job, the Lord God restored a double portion of all that Job had lost!

The Baal-Perazim breakthrough for Job broke the demonic attack and stronghold on his family, finances and foreboding but the double-edged sword that destroyed the diabolical yoke was forgiveness and love. He chose to love the very friends who falsely accused him and condemned him when he needed comfort. He didn’t have friends who fasted and prayed with him. Their visit only crushed his spirit all the more. However, Job chose to bless instead of curse. The sin of the friends of Job was “false representation” of God’s goodness, mercy and grace. After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has….My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly (Job 42:7-8). Job petitioned for mercy and the Lord graciously forgave the three merciless accusers.

The key to double portion increase and a Baal-Perazim breakthrough is forgiveness, mercy and love. The burnt sacrifice of Job’s friends was accepted only because Job stood in the gap for them. By extending unassuming mercy to the friends who were merciless to him, Job opened the floodgates of heaven and was blessed with a Baal-Perazim restoration.

Double Portion Breakthrough:

  1. Mercy: Be merciful – quick to forgive, release and bless. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy (Matthew 5:7).
  2. Meek: Remain humble and do not be quick to condemn the suffering.
  3. Multiplication: Forgiveness and love are multiplying agents.

Mercy, meekness and forgiveness are Baal-Perazim armory.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I commit to be quick to forgive, love and be merciful to my ruthless offenders. Amen.
