27 March 2026 – Favorite Destination – Part 2

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Before the television and technology era, in most ancient cultures, the family gathered around the dinner table to talk and have fellowship. Dining together as a family supports family values, connection, communication, strengthens relationship and inculcates spiritual growth. It is only after technological advancement that the dinner tables are hardly used.

Abraham had three visitors. He recognized the divine visitation and responded. He invited them to his tent, prepared a meal and refreshed them. While they were dining with him, the Lord reaffirmed that he would have the promised son at the age of 100. Furthermore, the Lord shared the secret regarding the destruction that was about to come upon Sodom and Gomorrah. Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? (Genesis 18:17). Abraham’s hospitality created room for divine fellowship and impartation of blessings. It was after a sumptuous meal did the Lord share His divine agenda to Abraham.

The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He knocks at the door and waits for us to open the door. He comes in only if He is welcomed. Those who make room for Him, invite Him in and give Him the rulership of their life, become His favorite destination. He has fellowship meals with them – meaning He teaches, coaches, guides, instructs and corrects them. He makes them lie down by green pastures and leads them beside the still waters. God’s power follows through God’s presence.

When we make room for the Almighty God by responding in obedience to His voice, receiving Him into our heart and reclining with Him in prayer and fellowship, we will become God’s favorite destination.

God’s Favorite Destination:

  1. Respond: The Holy Spirit will not force Himself. We must make room by listening to the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit. Obedience is the expression of our love to Him.
  2. Refresh: Prayer is the time of refreshing, where we have conversations with the Lord.
  3. Recline: Rest and recline on His bosom.

A heart that hears God’s voice and makes room for Him is God’s favorite destination.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I will hear your voice and walk in the light of your guidance.  Amen.
