Luke 1:35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God”.
Psalm 91 is the most read and cherished psalm especially in times of trials, tests and turmoil. There is a secret place which is the safe haven of the shelter of the Most-High God. In the safety radius of God’s presence, the evil eyes are blinded and the enemy loses all control. The shelter of God is an intimate place in His inner chamber. Proximity to this shelter is only through spiritual intimacy.
“Being overshadowed by God’s presence is to be enveloped in His presence, protection and power.”
We will be under God’s shadow when we walk closely with Him in obedience, integrity and honesty. The Lord found a surrendered and sincere young woman and chose her as the conduit to enter the earth. As Mary was dwelling under the shadow of the Almighty by walking in purity and humility, she was overshadowed by the all-surpassing power of the Almighty who did a creative miracle in her womb. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and she was clothed with divine power.
The Holy Spirit inhabits us when we open our hearts to Him but when He overshadows us, we will be engulfed under the canopy of His presence. The Holy Spirit coming upon us and encasing us with His presence is a unique and different experience. Extraordinary miracles become ordinary occurrences when we are immersed and overshadowed by the Almighty God. Wisdom is the way of life and the wonder-working power of God is the life-giving stream when we are overshadowed and empowered by His power.
Dwell under the shadow of the Most-High to be overshadowed by His power.
Overshadowed:
- Safe Haven: The safe haven of God’s shelter is holiness, humility and honesty.
- Safety Radius: Obedience to His Word is the safety radius. “Whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm” (Proverbs 1:33).
- Shadow: The closer and closer we walk with God; our shadow will disappear under His shadow.
Creative miracles happen when we are overshadowed by His power.
Prayer: Holy Father, I want to be engulfed by your presence and empowered by your anointing and to be overshadowed by You. Amen.
