1 Kings 18:14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.
“Being overshadowed by God’s presence is to be enveloped in His presence, protection and power.”
Overshadowed by God’s wisdom, David succeeded in everything he did, as the Lord God was with him. David was clothed with divine wisdom and discretion. He was led by prudence and instructed to respond with understanding by the divine tutor the Holy Spirit. David did not come from a royal family. He did not have a dad who taught him to fit into the palace or to excel in leadership. He was a poor shepherd boy but rich in the Word. David knew His God. David’s intimacy with the Lord shrouded him with power and shaded him with divine protection. He was overshadowed by God’s wisdom and became the most loved and greatest king of Israel. And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord God Almighty was with him (2 Samuel 5:10).
We don’t have to come from a prestigious family to become successful. We don’t need a royal heritage to become influential. Not everyone is born into an imperial family but when we are born again, we come under the royal bloodline of the King of Kings. Our blood group changes from A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, and AB- to “JC+++”. The blood of Jesus is infused into our bloodstream. We are marked as royalty and assigned divine security. The genes of Jesus start flowing in us as we learn to hear His voice, read His Word and walk in His ways.
When we are overshadowed by God, our words will be jewels of wisdom, ideas – precious treasures and actions – prolific and profitable.
Overshadowed and Endowed:
- Wisdom: Dwelling with the Lord endows us with divine wisdom. “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6).
- Wealth: Wealth, success and victory are in store for those who are covered under His shade. He holds success in store for the upright (Proverbs 2:7).
- Workmanship: Under the shadow of His presence, we acquire divine workmanship and skill.
Under the canopy of God’s presence there is wisdom and wealth.
Prayer: Father Divine, I will dwell in your presence and be nourished by your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Help me to be prudent in all my ways. Amen.
