Genesis 18:17 Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?
“Success Factors” are the essential IQ (Intelligent Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient), technical and operational skillsets that are essential to differentiate superior performance from average. The success of a person is determined by the trust they have earned with the management and the decision makers in corporates. Similarly, our spiritual progress is determined by the trust we have earned from the Lord by our faithfulness, obedience and trustworthiness.
“Every challenge on the earth must first be won in the spiritual realm before it manifests in the natural realm”.
Abraham earned the trust of the Lord God that He came down to visit him with two angels to have a political discussion. As they had a fellowship meal the Lord finally gave the barren couple a timeline for the birth of their promised son. Then one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son” (vs 10). A friendly visitation brought favour into the tent of Abraham. Further, the Lord told him about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot, Abraham’s nephew had chosen to live. Then, Abraham and the Lord had a dialogue where Abraham arbitrated on behalf of his nephew. The trustworthiness of Abraham earned the trust of the King of Kings.
Another success factor for us not only to succeed but also to leave an indelible mark of significance is a trustworthy lifestyle. Trustworthiness is a key indicator of emotional intelligence (EI). The Lord does not entrust great assignments based on IQ but EQ. Emotionally unstable will be petrified with the changing economy, political climate and uncertainties, but those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever (Psalm 125:1). Our trust in the Lord gains the Saviour’s confidence to entrust us with greater responsibilities. More the trust, the bigger the assignments.
Success Factors:
- Steady: Those who trust in the Lord are steady in their emotions.
- Secure: Those who trust in Him are secure at all times as the Lord is their source.
- Serene: Serenity and perfect peace at all times are the evidence of trust.
Trustworthiness is a key success factor.
Prayer: Mighty God, mature me through tumultuous times and teach me to remain in peace and trust in You. Amen.
