10 May 2026 – Success Factors – Part 4

Exodus 24:13 Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God.

“Success Factors” are the essential IQ/(Intelligent Quotient), EQ/(Emotional Quotient), technical and operational skillsets that are essential to differentiate superior performance from average. A good mentor plays a very important role in developing emotional intelligence, work ethics and effectiveness. Stress management is a key factor for success.

“Every challenge on the earth must first be won in the spiritual realm before it manifests in the natural realm”.

The success of Joshua is attributed to his teachable spirit and humility. Joshua was the young personal assistant to Moses. He followed Moses and waited at the foot of the mountain while Moses communed with the Lord for 40 days and nights on the mountain top. So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle (Exodus 33:11).

Youth and teens look for role models and superheroes. About 70% of youth and teens have a role model they try to imitate and draw their identity from. Joshua had a role model. His ‘mentor’ and ‘superhero’ was Moses, a man who spoke to God face to face. The proximity and sincerity of Joshua to the Lord and the man of God, ascribed to his success. The best role model and superhero who has no flaws nor failures is Jesus. Imitating Jesus builds confidence, self-esteem and identity.

To be successful we must learn to wait in God’s presence and be empowered by Him. Joshua waited to be taught and trained, and entrusted with the task of possessing the promised territory.

Success Factors:

  1. Tasks: No task is menial. Sound habits are developed by repeating simple tasks. Consistency in small disciplines train us to master greater assignments. So, start small.
  2. Timing: Wait for God’s timing. While waiting, worship and work hard to build godly habits and disciplines. We are not waiting on God; God is waiting on us to develop disciplines before He can entrust us with blessings.
  3. Territory: Rome is not built in a day, similarly, we cannot possess our God-given territory of influence in a day.

“Make Jesus your Superhero”.

Prayer: Jesus, You are my Master, Mentor and my Maker. Amen.
