John 18:38“What is truth?” retorted Pilate.
The scientific facts about fire solicits that fire is a fantastic chemical and physical process. Through combustion fire releases heat, light and gases. The fire triangle is fuel, oxygen and heat. Even if one of these are removed, fire goes out. In very hot flames particles become oxidized. The fact remains that fire can burn humans because the human flesh is made of materials that can undergo combustion. Heat causes burn injuries and water in the tissues evaporate and intensifies the burn. As the temperature goes up the fats and proteins in the body breakdown and turn into fuel contributing to the burning. While these facts remain, the Bible teaches us an irrefutable truth that the properties of fire would be nullified when we have the fire of God in us and on us!
The four Hebrew men who refused to worship the golden idol set up by Nebuchadnezzar were condemned to the blazing furnace. They were given one last chance to fall before the image to be pardoned from burning but they boldly declined to bow down before false gods. The infuriated king turned the heat of the furnace seven times hotter that the flames of the fire that killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to the furnace. However, the blazing fire did not touch the four men. The king leaped and exclaimed, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” (Daniel 3:25). The passion for the Lord that burned in their hearts quenched the effects of the fiery furnace. Though the facts about the fire remain, the truth trumps over the facts that “our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29).
Facts are proven dataset but the truth of God’s Word invalidates its effect.
Truth triumphs over Facts:
- Mighty: All of God’s creation obeys the creator except the fallen human kind. Fire loses its properties under the power of God.
- Master: Forecasts and predictions of the future fumble before Jesus our Master.
- Miraculous: Incredible miracles manifest on those who choose to believe in God’s Word more than the facts, figures or diagnosis.
“The fire of envy can be around us yet we will walk unharmed when we have the fire anointing on us.”
