Psalm 75:6-7 For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
“God rewards those who seek Him diligently.”
The dictionary definition of rewards says that “rewards are incentives, gifts, or benefits given in recognition of an achievement, service, or desired behavior”.
Divine Rewards are a recognition of righteousness.
Our righteous living might not be noticed by people and might be forgotten by man but will be recognized by the Lord. Mordecai was traumatized when he heard about the wicked decree that was written and circulated to annihilate the Jews. He tore his robes and sat mourning on ashes until he interjected the evil ploy. He challenged Queen Esther to plead the case before the king of Persia. The passion for his people captured God’s heart.
While the enemy was burning with fury to destroy Mordecai and the Jews, God stole the sleep of the king. The restless king did not call for dancers and music to put him to sleep but ordered the chronicles to be read and found that Mordecai was not recognized or rewarded for saving his life. The climax of God’s amazing divine reward system is that the Lord God will make the enemy design the reward and proclaim the honour for His children.
Have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head (Esther 6:8). The wicked Haman himself designed the promotion plan, robed Mordecai and led the royal procession pronouncing Mordecai’s honour! Reward and recognition come from the Lord.
Royal Rewards:
- Royal Robe: The divine “Robe of Righteousness” shines bright in the dark world.
- Royal Ride: The Lord will use the mouth of the enemy to recognize us and He will exalt us to heights beyond our comprehension. So Haman got the robe and the horse. He robed Mordecai, and led him on horseback through the city streets, proclaiming before him, “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!” (Esther 6:10-11).
- Royal Crown: Ashes and defeats will be replaced with a royal crown of honour.
“Righteous are rewarded with a royal robe, ride and royal crest.”
Prayer: Father God, I will look up to the hills where my exaltation comes from. Amen.
