Habakkuk 3:3a-4 His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from His hand, where His power was hidden.
The morning sun is very good for our health. Basking under the sun for 10 to 15 minutes within the first hour of waking helps set our body clock. Morning sun is rich in vitamin D, improves our mood and enhances natural energy.
Sunrise and the health benefits from the morning sun is a beautiful analogy to the splendour and the grandeur of God’s Almighty power that flows from His hand. The hand of God brings favour and fortune. His hand is a fortified wall of protection over us.
In Ezra chapters 7 & 8, “the gracious hand of God” appears 6 times! God’s gracious hand endowed him with courage, provision, guidance, protection and success. Ezra led the second group of exiles from Babylon back to Jerusalem in the year 458 BC. (Zerubbabel and Jeshua (Joshua) the high priest took the first group in 538/537 BC and Nehemiah led the third group in 445 BC). During the four months journey of Ezra the gracious hand of God protected them from enemies and ambushes along the road (Ezra 8:31). The king granted everything that they needed for the journey, for the gracious hand of His God was on him” (Ezra 7:9).
When the Lord opens His hand, rays of His power, potent and provision flash like rays of sunlight. “The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him.” (Ezra 8:22). The flashing rays of protection, providence and promotion come from the gracious hand of God. No human hand or demonic stealing hand can stop the blessings that the Lord has in store for His children. The secret to receive from His gracious hand is to have our eyes fixated on His gracious hand and not on human hands, influence or efforts.
Hidden Power:
- Help: Our help and favour are hidden in His gracious hands.
- Health: Our health and healing are in His gracious hands.
- Honour: Our honour, promotion and increase come from His gracious hands.
Favour and fortune are hidden in His hand.
Prayer: Lord God, I will only look to your gracious hand for help, health and honour. Amen.
