Habakkuk 3:3a-4 His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from His hand, where His power was hidden.
When the earth’s hemisphere is closer to the sun it increases both daylight and the intensity of the solar radiation. Hence in spring and summer the sun stays above the horizon for more hours, so the ground receives sunlight for a longer time. New growth happens in spring because of rising temperatures, longer days, and warmer soil.
The power of God to bless, heal and bring breakthroughs in our life does not change. His splendor and strength remain bright and brilliant like the sun. It is our shortcomings and sin that moves us away from His might and protection. “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]” (James 1:17 AMP). The sun does not rise or set, it is the earth that spins away from the sun and then turns towards the sun that causes the rising and setting. Similarly, it is our own shortcomings that move us closer or far from God’s presence and power.
As fresh buds, leaves and shoots emerge as the weather gets warmer in summers, our thoughts, talk and testimony will be renewed in God’s presence. The evidence was very apparent on the face of Moses. Moses spent hours and days in God’s presence, they saw that his face was radiant. (Exodus 34:35a).
Our life will be like a well-watered garden, full of fruits and flowers, when we draw closer and closer to the warmth of His presence.
Hidden Power:
- Sunlight: The warmth of the sunlight in spring brings forth new growth, similarly, when we are posed in God’s presence and power, we will be fruitful.
- Spring: As spring is colourful and full of life, our life will radiate the beautiful characteristics of our Saviour as we draw closer and closer to Him.
- Sustain: Sun sustains life on earth and the Son of Man sustains us.
Bask under God’s presence and power.
Prayer: Father of Lights, I will remain under your presence and power. Amen.
