Colossians 3:2-3 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
A rapid test (often called a RAT or lateral flow test) is a fast medical diagnostic tool that detects the presence of specific viral proteins in 10 to 20 minutes.
We can be at rest in all circumstances and through every challenge when the ‘God of Peace’ and the ‘God of Hope’ is our King and Master. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” (Hebrews 4:3). The redeemed Hebrew slave did not enter the rest of God as the truth of God’s Word did not combine with faith and crystalize in their heart. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. (Hebrews 4:2). The truth of the gospel that we hear must be sealed and cemented by faith to be fortified in the heart. To enter God’s divine rest and to pass the rapid test of rest in Christ the promises of God must be mixed with faith.
“Live with an eternal focus, not an earthly fixation.”
The message of God’s love, salvation and redemption was preached to the congregation that was delivered from Egypt. However, the spiritual glue, “faith”, was absent; hence the truth did not stick to their hearts.
When you face a fierce storm, go into the prayer closet and listen to God. First, receive a word or a promise or direction for the situation and secondly fortify the Word and promise that you received with the super glue of faith.
Eternal vs Earthly Focus:
- Fortress: Enter the fortress of faith and strengthen yourself in the truth by meditating on the promises.
- Fortify: Drive out fear, offence and anger with the Word and reinforce your heart with love, peace and joy.
- Faith: In the “fortress of faith” is the sabbath rest in Christ Jesus.
Pass the divine rapid test of rest.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I will enter into your rest through the doors of faith and strengthen myself with your Word. Amen.
