Daniel 2:22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
Friends share secrets and confide crucial and impactful information with each other. Just as trustworthy friends do; the Lord confides in those who walk in reverential fear of Him. The secret [of the wise counsel] of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning (Psalm 25:14).
Daniel, a fervent young man who feared the Lord, was taken captive to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. The king woke up one morning with a troubling dream. He called the astrologers and sorcerers and asked them to tell him the dream and its interpretation. The magicians were willing to give an interpretation but there was no way they could reveal his dream. Hence the furious king passed a decree that all the wise men in Babylon should be put to death. Daniel and his friends were also part of the team of wise men and were caught up in this unfortunate plot.
When Daniel heard about the decree he went to the king and spoke to him with wisdom and diplomacy and requested for time. That night he called for an all-night prayer to seek the Lord. The friend of God hears secrets from the Lord. During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven (Daniel 2:19).
The Lord God reveals secrets, deep and hidden things and discloses the solutions to the confusions, to those who love Him and share a fond friendship with Him. If you are troubled, go to your prayer closet and wait on the Lord. He will reveal the secrets through a vision, a verse or His voice.
Friendship with God:
- Vision: He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds (Job 33:15).
- Verse: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).
- Voice: “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4)”.
God reveals deep and secret things through a vision, a verse or His voice.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, I will walk in reverential fear of you. Amen.
