Romans 11:34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?”
Questioning skills is the ability to analyze concepts, reason and understand the different aspects of a topic. Relevant, purposeful and thought-provoking questions are inevitable to make the right decisions and develop IQ. We can ask questions out of curiosity to God however, there are times we are tempted to question God’s ways and God’s will. Our questions to the Lord should draw us closer to Him and not push us away from Him. It is impossible to understand everything that is happening around us and to us. Questions of doubt, disbelief and derision will destroy our faith but questions from an anguished heart will help us to understand His mind.
God is not obligated to answer all our questions or answer our prayers the way we want them to be answered. The human brain, (as powerful as it may be), is only a bird brain as compared to the wisdom of God. Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! (1 Corinthians 13:9). There are certain things that we will understand only in part on the earth. Part-2 would be revealed to us only in heaven yet, when He is silent, keep believing that God is good and He will work and weave all things together for our good.
We cannot fully understand the purpose behind the pain or comprehend God’s mighty plan most times, but those who have the mind of Christ will become stronger and not weaker during difficult circumstances. For, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). The mind of Christ is totally submitted to God’s will even when it is painful, petrifying or perplexing. Only in total submission our unanswered prayers will make sense and unresolved agitation will dissipate. Hence it is extremely important to ask relevant, purposeful and thought-provoking questions in the midst of a crisis, challenge or catastrophe.
Questions:
1. Acidic: Angry and acidic questions when we are in a tight corner will only push us away from God’s presence. “Does God even care?”, “Does He have ears to listen to my cry?” are questions that will make us bitter with God. Reiterate the love of God when you are overwhelmed with pain.
2. Agitated: God is not obligated to answer our agitations or angry questions such as, “Why would the God of love allow this to happen to me?” When you are not able to understand what God is doing, trust Him and keep reiterating that God is in control. Be alert, not agitated.
3. Anxious: Anxiety is a signal to the demonic that our faith is weak. ‘Why, when, how questions’ will bring panic attacks. The diabolical realm will shoot doubting and probing questions to discombobulate us and fuel the anxiety. Praise, don’t panic.
God is not obligated to answer acidic, agitated or anxious questions.
Ask questions to understand Him, never to challenge God’s love.
1 Corinthians 2:16a But we have the mind of Christ.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, give me your mind to submit to your ways even when I don’t understand what you’re doing. Amen.
