13 June 2026 – Arrows – Part 3

Psalm 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.

An arrow has three parts: the shaft, the arrowhead, and the fletching. The shaft must be straight and consistent in thickness and stiffness to spin swiftly; the arrowhead must be sharp to hit the target and the fletching feathers are essential to stabilize the flight. All the parts of the arrow are equally important to hit the target with precision.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, if we want our generation to be productive, prolific and powerful their body, mind and spirit must be fashioned in accordance with God’s Word. When the Lord appointed Joshua in the place of Moses, He gave him the key to become a successful leader. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). Meditating on God’s Word– not memorizing, builds our spiritual stamina. Muttering the Word by declaring and repeating will make us emotionally strong and obeying the Word will make us prosperous and successful.

Joshua was sharp to hear the direction of the Lord. At the request of Joshua, the Lord made the sun and the moon standstill, which means the earth stopped spinning (Joshua 10). If this happens again today, the scientific explanation for the scenario would be that there would be global supersonic winds and massive tsunamis. Dust and debris would fill the air causing firestorms. However, when the earth stopped spinning, the Lord held the atmosphere, the water bodies, and the mighty oceans intact until Joshua finished fighting.

Polished for Purpose:

  1. Mind: Meditating on God’s Word, polishes our mind to think sharp. The mind is the arrowhead that hits the target.
  2. Mouth: Speaking and declaring the promises are the fletching feathers that stabilizes the flight. Emotions make us fly high or sink low.
  3. Move: Our actions that are directed by God’s Word and voice is the balanced shaft that hits the target.

A mind that meditates on God’s Word, a mouth that mutters His promises and a man who moves at God’s command is like a sharp arrow in the hands of a warrior.”

Prayer: Father God, I will meditate on your Word, mutter with my mouth and move at your command. Amen.
