Psalm 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
The speed of the arrow would depend on various factors including the draw weight (the force needed to pull the string back). A bow with higher draw weight stores more energy and that energy propels the arrow faster. Draw length also impacts the speed. A longer draw length generally means a faster arrow. Arrow weight will also determine the speed. A lighter arrow travels faster as it needs less energy to accelerate but a heavier arrow is normally slower but is more stable.
Developing a profound prayer life will make a child of God like a swift and stable arrow. Their prayers will shoot through the dark clouds of the demonic realm and penetrate into the presence of the Lord. Draw weight is a good metaphor for weighty sincere and faithful prayers that propels into the heavenly realms. The draw length on the other hand can be related to the dedication of a regular prayer routine. Some prayers fetch quick answers like a light arrow, yet others are like heavy arrows that are slow to travel yet break strongholds.
Daneil’s prayers were powerful and productive. Some prayers were swift and fetched quick answers yet others were slow but demolished the demonic strongholds. He was a man of prayer. Death notice did not stop him from praying. Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before (Daniel 6:10). The fate and the future of this praying man could not be tampered by his envious enemies.
The plan of God for a praying child of God cannot be sabotaged by hell. Prayer routine polishes a child of God into God’s plan and purpose.
Polished for Purpose:
- Room: There must be a specific prayer closet or room for us to commune with God.
- Rug: The rug on which we kneel must always be drenched with anointing.
- Routine: Prayer routine fashions us into prayer warriors.
“The prayer room, rug and routine will shape our prayers into sharp and swift arrows”.
Prayer: Gracious Lord, may my prayers travel swiftly and steadily into Your awesome presence. Amen.
