ISO 9000 emphasizes on Quality Management System (QMS) which focuses on quality management and process control, continual improvement, quality assurance and quality control such as inspecting, testing and ensuring that the products meet the standards specified. Without continual improvement and quality management, a company risks falling behind its competitors.
In our Christian journey, it is crucial to monitor our spiritual status, growth and the continuous development to ensure that we are living a life worthy of our calling. A person’s “Calling” is their “purpose” and “vision” that they have been anointed and appointed for. If our goal is making money, climbing the career ladder or accumulating retirement reserves then we have not identified our purpose. Our purpose must always be bigger than ourselves. It must reach, bless, build and strengthen others in their journey with Christ Jesus. The impact of our purpose must outlive us.
The Apostle Paul says that he was a prisoner to his God-given purpose and vision and urges us to make choices and decisions that will root us in our vision and divine direction. The rudimentary principles that will stabilize us in growth are humility, gentleness, patience and forbearance. Paul was a well-educated wealthy Pharisee who held a very prestigious position in the Sanhedrin. He was a Roman citizen which was a highly prized and expensive status in ancient times. He had elite education and advanced Rabbinic tutoring under Gamaliel which only sons of affluent families could afford. Further he was a tradesman – Paul was a tentmaker. Yet, he considered all his affluence, influence and opulence as dung and of no value. Paul says, “I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8b) and he chose to live a life worthy of his calling.
