1 Samuel 2:8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.
YouTube influencers are people who have built an audience and can influence their viewers’ opinions, decisions, or behavior through their content. They share their experience, knowledge and perspectives and can capture the attention and alter the decisions of the audience. The platform is also used to educate, entertain and enthuse the audience.
The anointing that we carry has the similar effect of the influencers. Our audience are the people in our domain – our colleagues, business contacts and comrades. Our experiences and encounters with God gain the trust and confidence of the audience. The outcome of a crisis reveals the manifestation of God’s power.
Hannah tasted the goodness and graciousness of the Lord, and even though she exited this world roughly 3,075 years ago, her testimony continues to influence the brokenhearted. Hannah stands as a powerful testimony to fervent prayers. In her song of praise at the dedication of her first-born child Samuel, she praised the Lord who lifts the downtrodden from the dirt and the destitute from their defeats. He is the God who brings honour in the place of humiliation. He not only elevates us to a place of prominence but also endows us with power and authority. Hannah’s worship song was her testimony – Those who were full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has had many sons pines away (1 Samuel 2:6).
It is not the educated and the knowledgeable who know about God but those who have experienced Him and have been touched by His power who are influential in God’s kingdom. Sharing our testimony makes the promises of God come alive in the hearts of the hearers.
Influencers for Christ:
- Encounters: Sharing our encounters with the Lord builds trust.
- Experiences: Sharing our experiences about His faithfulness builds faith.
- Education: Sharing our knowledge is insufficient. Only the Word empowered by the Holy Spirit will bless others. The revelation of the heart, and not head knowledge that influences and transforms lives.
Influencers bless others with their encounters, experiences and education.
