Acts 11:21 The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
“Success Factors” are the essential IQ (Intelligent Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient), technical and operational skillset that are essential to differentiate superior performance from average. They are normally split into “Individual/Behavioral traits such as attitude, motivation and skills, and “Organizational/Strategic” areas such as leadership, strategic focus, development etc. The secret to “superior and distinguished performance”, not only in career but more so in family, social and secular world is hidden in spiritual success. “Spiritual Successfulness” is the ability to understand the ways of God and walk in integrity and truth.
“Every challenge on the earth must first be won in the spiritual realm before it manifests in the natural realm”.
The major contributor to our success spiritually, socially and substantially is to ensure that the Lord’s hand is with us. The early church spread like wildfire and a great number of people turned to the Lord as the Lord’s hand was upon them. The Lord’s mighty hand will be with us when our eyes are fixated on Him. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken (Psalm 16:8). Eyes that follow the footsteps of Jesus and ears that lean-in and listen to His instructions, directions and correction will be under the mighty hand of God.
The profile of Barnabas in Acts 11:24 says, “He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord”. Joseph, also known as Barnabas (“son of encouragement”), passed the EQ test as a “good man” – (he acted justly, loved mercy and walked humbly before God), and excelled in the IQ as he was filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. Hence, his success was unstoppable.
We don’t have to pursue success; success will pursue us when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Success Factors:
- Heed: Practice heeding to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
- Humble: God gives grace of unmerited favour to the humble.
- Holy Spirit: We can do nothing of eternal significance without the Holy Spirit.
God’s hand upon our life will make us successful.
Prayer: Father God, May your hand rest upon me and give me success in everything I do. Amen.
