12 August 2026 – Influencers – Part 7

John 7:15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, “How has this man become learned, not having been educated?”.

Jesus did not have formal rabbinical training or human credential yet the authority with which He spoke and His deep spiritual insights amazed both the religious leaders and the common people. His Words sunk deep into the hearts of people and brought changes, correction and comfort. Influencers can cut across all age groups, different cultures and categories of people groups. They will be able to impact the educated and the uneducated, the cultured and the uncultured, the elite and the commoner. Jesus was the greatest influencer who ever walked on this earth. There was not one before Him and there will be no one after Him.

When Jesus was only twelve years old, He astonished the teachers of the Law with His brilliance. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and His answers (Luke 2:47). The Pharisees were envious about the increasing popularity and the influence of Jesus and they sent the temple police to arrest Him. However, they came back empty-handed and said, “No one ever spoke the way this man does,” (John 7:46). The guards who went to arrest Jesus were captivated by His teachings. Even Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor and Herod the king marveled at Jesus.

The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding superseded the learned, intelligent and the highly educated. Anointing of the Holy Spirit will turn ordinary people into impressive influencers for Christ Jesus. Education is absolutely necessary. However, formal schooling can only fill us with knowledge but anointing is the fuel that will turn the knowledge into influential wisdom.

Jesus was and is the greatest influencer of all times. Jesus sent His Spirit, the Holy Spirit to be with us and on us to continue to influence and illuminate the darkened world with the light of His truth and wisdom. Influencers for Christ are the light and salt to the world. Both light and salt cannot be seen but we cannot live without their effects and benefits.
