Habakkuk 3:3a-4 His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from His hand, where His power was hidden.
As the sun rises in the horizon and pierces through the darkness, its rays flash like a shining sword. Darkness fades away, shadows soften and earth is bathed with warmth and life. Dew sparkles like jewels on the grass and the birds chirp as the sun shines brilliantly over the mountains and the seas. The sun rise is a beautiful analogy of the splendor and the power of God and the flashing rays of the sun picturizes the Almighty power of God that is hidden in the palm of His hand.
The hand of God refers to the power of God. Every time we read the hand of God in the scriptures it donates the immense and incomparable power of the God who is enthroned above all other thrones and dominions. When our hand is united with His hand, the ‘natural’ will be empowered with the ‘Supreme-power’ and ‘supernatural miracles’ become ordinary occurrences. Moses experienced it firsthand. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.” (Exodus 14:26). Moses physically felt the power of God flowing through his hands and covering the divine passage through which ½ a million people crossed the Red Sea. Hence, he sang a song of praise and said, “You stretched out your right hand, and the earth swallowed your enemies” (Exodus 15:12).
Moses experienced the power of God when the Lord struck Egypt with the plagues but the climax of it all was at the bank of the Red Sea. Moses and the people witnessed the mighty water recede and give way as well as swell and close-in!
His mighty hand will do mighty and marvelous miracles in our lives. Join your ordinary hands with the “super-power” to experience the supernatural.
Hidden Power:
- Mighty: God’s hand will do the impossible for us.
- Marvellous: God’s hand will marvel us with surprises.
- Miraculous: God’s hand will do mighty marvelous miracles for those who hide under the arms of the Almighty.
His power is hidden in His hand.
Prayer: Father God, stretch forth your hands and save, deliver and heal. Amen.
