“Cautious Whispers” is a figurative and poetic expression that suggests carefully chosen words rather than impulsive or reckless speech. Be cautious about who you share your burdens with – the apathetic, careless and unconcerned will despise you.

The prudent are protected by their wise choices and words. Separation from men and seclusion with God is the right choice during evil times. There was a ruthless decree plotted against Daniel by the envious satraps and administrators in Babylon. Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. (Daniel 6:10). Daniel was the King’s favorite employee. He had an ear to the King. When the evil ploy was being forged, Daniel did not go to the king for protection order. He did not curry favour with the king; instead, he sought the favour of the King of kings.The threat to a brutal death did not stop him from his prayer routine.
In crucible circumstances and testing trials, do not run to seek the favour of people. Even the most influential person will not be able to save us from the difficult trials. When the malingers who had stalked around Daniel’s home sought to kill him by invoking the decree and having him thrown into the lions’ den, it saddened the heart of the king. When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him (Daniel 6:14). Little did King Darius know that the King of kings had sent an entourage of angels ahead of Daniel into the den to protect him.
Cautious Whispers:
- Silence: Do not slander about the evil doers – be silent. “Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished” (Proverbs 11:21).
- Seek: Seek the favour of God not the favour of influential people. Favour of God will open doors that no man can open.
- Surround: The prudent will be surrounded with angelic protection.
The prudent are protected.
Prayer: King of kings, I will seek your presence and wait for your vindication. Amen.
