Colossians 3:2-3 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
A rapid test (often called a RAT or lateral flow test) is a fast medical diagnostic tool that detects the presence of specific viral proteins in 10 to 20 minutes.
Our minds become fixed on whatever we constantly think about. If we are anxious about our health, finance or friendships, then we are still carnally minded. The rapid test of flesh or faith is based on what we are ruminating on day-in and day-out. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires (Romans 8:5). The desires of the heart will determine if we our minds are set on things that are above or on things of the earth.
“Live with an eternal focus, not an earthly fixation.”
When we face a challenge, rather than cringing in fear, arise in faith. A crisis is another opportunity to experience the glorious mighty power of God manifesting in our life. Carnal desires will instill insecurity and fear. Fear of loss, fear of change, fear of early death or fear of the giants we face are only manifestations of the flesh. Those who live in accordance with the Spirit, guided by the knowledge of God’s will, divine wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, will not be perturbed in a problem. They will rise on eagle’s wings and worship rather than worry. Like an eagle that gets excited about a storm, those who Living according to the Spirit desires will become excited about the immense power of God when they face an unexpected storm.
Eternal vs Earthly Focus:
- Serene: Spiritually minded are serene in the storm. Serenity is a sign of spiritual focus.
- Secure: Spiritually minded are always secure in the Lord and not in their opulence, influence or affluence.
- Storm: Every storm we face is a step up for promotion. Don’t be afraid of storms – get excited.
Overcome the flesh with faith. Be heavenly focused.
Prayer: Father God, I will have my mind focused on what the Spirit desires. I will seek you first and all these things will be added to me. Amen.
