17 September 2026 – The Antidote – Part 1

Colossians 1:19-20 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Antidote is the remedy that counteracts poison, harmful substances and its effects. It neutralizes, reverses and nullifies the effects of toxins, venom and its destructive influence. Antidote is the healing counterforce.

The blood of Jesus is the counterforce that counteracts and heals us from the detrimental effects of sin, transgressions and iniquities. The blood of Jesus delivers us from curses and reverses the effects of the generational and bloodline curses. The antidote to a sickness is on the shelf of the pharmacy. Unless we buy it and intake the medication it will not heal the harmful germs or reverse the effect of the infection in the body. Buying the medicine and storing it will not heal us; only consuming it will cure us from illness.

Similarly, the blood of Jesus is available to all of us. The blood is more powerful than most abhorrible sins, detestable transgressions and stubborn iniquities. Only the precious blood of Jesus has the power to break the shackles of curses and set us free from the consequence of bloodline curses. However, we must believe and receive it in faith. Jesus has paid the full price on the cross to not only redeem us but to restore us back to our original status as His sons and daughters.

Many live under the mindset of the prodigal who returned to his father. He knew that his father would forgive him but he was satisfied to be a servant and live in the servant quarters (Luke 15:19).  But the father of the prodigal did not condemn him; rather he covered, clothed and crowned him. The blood of Jesus does not give us a bunker in the servant quarters but restores our inheritance, legal rights and reinstates us as a coheir in the Kingdom.

The Blood is the antidote:

  1. Redeems: The blood redeems us from curses and condemnation.
  2. Restores: The blood restores and reinstates us as His sons and daughters.
  3. Renews: The blood renews the covenantal relationship.

The blood is the antidote.

Prayer: Dearest Jesus, I receive the forgiveness from my sins and freedom from the enslaving transgressions, addictions and curses. Amen.
