Colossians 1:19-20 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Antidote is the remedy that counteracts poison, harmful substances and its effects. It neutralizes, reverses and nullifies the effects of toxins, venom and its destructive influence. Antidote is the healing counterforce.
The blood of Jesus rewrites the past, reinstates the present and renews the future. The broken hearted were comforted, the captives and prisoners were set free when they came to Jesus. The past mistakes of the woman caught in adultery were erased and Jesus gave her a new beginning. The erroneous and corrupt lifestyle of Zaccheaus was blotted out and He committed to a new and noble lifestyle. The same Jesus who saved, delivered and healed is alive today in His resurrected body.
The blood stained life of Saul was erased and a brand-new book was opened for Paul the Apostle. We receive His forgiveness, freedom and a blemishless future free from accusation through faith. Hence, like the Apostle Paul we can also boldly say, but one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13b-14).
Only the blood of Jesus has the power to rewrite the past, reinstate the present and renew the future.
The Blood is the antidote:
- Condemnation: Only the blood can set us free from our past condemnation. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation (Colossians 1:22). The condemnations, accusations and evidence that the devil holds against us and our ancestors can only be canceled and reversed by the blood of Jesus.
- Curses: The curses due to repeated transgressions, despicable iniquities or bloodline curses that we have inherited can only be settled in full with the blood of Jesus. The blood turns the curses into blessings.
- Consequence: The blood reverses the consequences of the curse and renders them as unenforceable.
The blood is the antidote.
Prayer: Dearest Jesus, thank you for covering my ugly past, restoring me as Your son/daughter and securing my future. Amen.
