Colossians 1:19-20 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Antidote is the remedy that counteracts poison, harmful substances and its effects. It neutralizes, reverses and nullifies the effects of toxins, venom and its destructive influence. Antidote is the healing counterforce.
The blood of Jesus is the divine peacemaker that justifies us and saves us from the wrath of God. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! (Romans 5:9). We are justified by His blood through faith. We receive the justification through faith in our heart and we apply the blood spiritually and symbolically by confession with our mouth. The foreshadowing of this scriptural truth was represented by the blood of the Passover lamb placed on the doorposts of the Hebrews in Egypt. “The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt” (Exodus 12:13). The wrath of God passed over the home that had the blood. Similarly, the blood of Jesus brought peace for humanity with God Almighty.
Our tongue is the bunch of hyssop that applies the blood of Jesus over our thoughts, tongue and trajectory; our posterity, possession and passions and over our mind and mouth. The blood of Jesus speaks of the ransom for our iniquities and the peace we have with God through His sacrifice. Jesus took our lust, licentiousness, lies, anger, adultery, animosity, hate and our horrendous sins on Himself thereby justifying us through His body and death on the cross.
The Blood is the antidote:
- Saves: The blood of Jesus saves us from God’s wrath and receives mercy and finds grace for the time of need.
- Sanctifies: The blood of Jesus sanctifies us from all sins, iniquities and bloodline curses.
- Separates: The blood of Jesus separates us and protects us from the penalty of sin and the consequences of curses.
The blood is the antidote.
Prayer: Dearest Jesus, I apply the blood that brings peace and justification over my head, home and heritage. Amen.
