Exodus 3:2-3 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”
Fire changes whatever it touches. Fire brings transformation as it transfers energy to the material, causing physical and chemical changes. The same analogy is true for the fire of God. The fire of God brings emotional, mental and spiritual transformation on whomever it falls.
Moses was curious about a bush that was on flames but it did not burn up. Bush on fire was a common sight in that part of the world where it is dry and hot, however, the strange sight of the bush not burning down intrigued Moses. When Moses got near the fire of God, it transformed his thoughts, tongue and trajectory. The life of Moses was not the same after His encounter with the burning bush. It was only when Moses took time to stop and notice the strange sight that he was touched by the fire of God.
Fan the fire into flames. Nurture your gifts, pursue your passions and earnestly desire to serve God. When we fervently search, identify and embrace our purpose then our desires, choices and decisions will be pivoted on our purposeful living. The fire did not burn the bush but the fire of God consumed the broken past of Moses and fired him up for a brand-new start. Moses who was shepherding his father-in-law’s flock became the shepherd to the redeemed Hebrew slaves.
Fuel your Fire into flames:
- Thoughts: The Holy fire will cleanse our thoughts. Negative, pessimistic and unwholesome will be consumed by the fire of God but divine purpose and purity will be ignited.
- Tongue: The Holy fire will regulate, correct and control our tongue. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check (James 3:2). Our tongue and talk measures the level of our anointing.
- Trajectory: The Holy fire will redirect and reroute our trajectory.
The Holy fire will cleanse our thoughts, tongue and trajectory.
Prayer: Holy Father, let your fire fall on me. Amen.
