04 July 2026 – The Seed – Part 3

Hosea 10:12 I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD, that He may come and shower righteousness upon you.’

“Seeds are God’s biological design for plant reproduction, survival, and propagation.”

A seed contains life and carries living genetic information inside it. Seeds can reproduce after their own kind. Similarly, our thoughts, words and deeds are seeds that will produce after its own kind. If we sow righteousness and choose purity, integrity and humility we will reap the harvest of God’s love and favour.  Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6:7). So, it is important to sow wisely. What we sow today will be our harvest tomorrow.

In ancient times, if there was dryness in a country the people moved to another pasture land where there was water and grass. Against the norms, the Lord instructed Isaac to remain in the land that was famished (Genesis 26:1). The Lord not only instructed Isaac to remain in the land, he also directed him to sow seeds and the Lord rewarded his obedience. The hundredfold harvest of Isaac was only a result of His choice to sow in obedience. The harvest of righteousness will be noticeable. The enemies of Isaac said, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you” (Genesis 26:28).

We will only reap what we sow. If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner! (Proverbs 11:31). Speaking the truth, standing up for justice, staying away from slander are seeds of righteousness. Being insulted for our faith in Christ, mocked for our integrous lifestyle or ostracized for serving the Lord, are fertilizers to the seeds of righteousness. The stinky fertilizers of the defamers multiply the seeds of righteousness into an abundant harvest.

The Seeds of Righteousness:

  1. Obedience: Obedience to God’s Word, His instructions and His direction are seeds of righteousness that will yield an abundant harvest.
  2. Obstinance: Obstinance from corrupt thinking, coarse joking and crooked ways gain the favour of heaven.
  3. Obvious: The blessing that follows righteousness will be obvious even to our enemies.

“Seeds of righteousness yield an abundant harvest.”

Prayer: Father Divine, I will choose to sow seeds of righteousness. Amen.
