Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
“God rewards those who seek Him diligently.”
The dictionary definition of rewards says that “rewards are incentives, gifts, or benefits given in recognition of an achievement, service, or desired behavior”. They are perquisites that are over and above the contracted remuneration as a recognition of the loyalty, hard work and exemplary performance. Even supermarkets offer reward points to their loyal customers.
The Lord God has divine reward policy and the first criteria to be eligible to the Divine Reward-System is “faith”. Faith pleases the heart of God. Our consistent love for the Lord and our earnest diligence to walk according to His Word and will, adds loyalty points to the Divine Reward-Register. What is invisible to the natural realm is bold and bright in the spiritual realm. The hours spent in our prayer closet might be hidden to the world but are watched and noted by heaven. Diligent seeking and spiritual growth happen behind the screen but the rewards are awarded in public before friends and foes.
Ruth, the Moabite chose to shun the idolatrous and adulterous practices of her people and decided to put her faith in the Lord God. When she clung on to her widowed mother-in-law and refused to go back to her people, she was not only loyal to her mum-in-law but expressed her commitment to follow the Lord God Almighty. Her earnest seeking was richly rewarded. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge (Ruth 2:12). Her choice, decision and action to come under the shelter of the Most-High God brought rich rewards of a new family life and recognition in the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Rich Rewards:
- Remuneration: God is no man’s debtor – For from him and through him and for him are all things. (Romans 11:36).
- Recognition: The Lord God makes a distinction between legalism and love with unfathomable promotions.
- Rewards: The Lord God recognizes “love” and “loyalty” with rich rewards.
“The Lord rewards loyalty richly.”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I will seek you earnestly with all my heart – not just dutifully but diligently. Amen.
