Luke 4:40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.
Methods are specific techniques or procedures used to collect and analyze data. Methodology on the other hand is the overall strategy, rationale, and theoretical framework that guides the choices and the use of the methods. One of the most common ways that Jesus healed was by laying His hands on the diseased, demonized and the dead.
God’s overall governing plan or methodology of redemption for humanity is to help, heal and honour. However, He might use different methods in the restoration process.
Jesus touched the ostracized untouchable lepers and healed them. He touched the eyes of the blind, mute and deaf, and they could see, speak and hear. The power of God’s touch and His mighty hand delivered the Hebrew slaves from captivity. Then the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, with terrifying power, and with signs and wonders (Deuteronomy 26:8). The hand of the Lord fought their battles. So the Philistines were subdued and they stopped invading Israel’s territory. Throughout Samuel’s lifetime, the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines (1 Samuel 7:13). No demon or destructive force can stand against the MIGHTY HAND OF THE LORD. The hand of the Lord was heavy against those who defiled and desecrated the tabernacle of the Lord (1 Samuel 5:6-12). When we are on our knees, God’s mighty hand will be in action.
The Mighty hand of the Lord saves, heals and delivers. His outstretched arm reaches out to us from heaven to bring us out of trouble. His powerful hand fights our battles and defeats our enemies. Our God surprises us with His methods and methodologies in redeeming His children from the pit, problems and perils.
God’s Mighty Hand:
- Delivers: There is no situation too difficult for our God to deliver. His Mighty arm delivers us from the clutches of hell.
- Drives: The Lord’s mighty arm will drive out those who hate and harm us. We will not find them even if we look for them.
- Defeats: The Lord defeats the plan of the enemy and gives us victory.
God’s Hand delivers.
Prayer: Almighty Father, When I am in Your hands I have nothing to fear. Amen.
