Colossians 1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
“Spiritual Understanding” is perceiving the sovereignty of God over the reality of the world. It is looking at a situation through the eyes of God and understanding the ways of God through His Word. Spiritual understanding empowers us with authority to overpower the enemy.
There are many Christians who are afraid of the devil and demons. They are unconsciously controlled by traditions, omens and superstitions. A bad dream or portent can petrify them. The devil still has powers yet, we have authority over his demonic weapons. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19). Spiritual understanding makes us bold and courageous. We grow into mature understanding that no matter what we face, the grace of God is sufficient for us to be victorious and that He is going to be glorified through it.
Once a meal was served before Elisha and his disciples but there was death in the pot. Elisha mixed some flour with the stew and miraculously removed the poison. Speak God’s word over any challenge and the death will turn into a delicious meal. We have the authority to turn the evil attack into an exciting opportunity of new blessings. Similarly, a venomous viper fastened itself on Paul’s hand but he shook it in the fire and suffered no harm.
The knowledge of His will, wisdom and spiritual understanding will empower us to overpower the vicious satanic attacks, plots and powers. The Word of God and the fire anointing will disarm the diabolical attack and turn it into a blessing. The devil will regret intruding in our path and opening a pathway to our promotion.
Spiritual Understanding:
- Deadly: Take authority over the symptoms of your body; No sickness can take our life. We have authority over deadly diseases.
- Destructive: If they drink poison, it will not hurt them (Mark 16:18).
- Deleterious: Deleterious defamation cannot deform your future.
“We have authority over the fierce fiendish attacks”.
Prayer: Sovereign Lord, help me to walk in authority and subdue the powers of the enemy. Amen
