Psalm 119:164 Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.
Habit formation is the psychological and neurological process by which behaviors become habits through repetition. The Psalmist would have disciplined himself to form the habit of praising the Lord seven times during the waking, active and conscious hours of the day. A template of praise-breaks at 8am, 10am, 12 noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm would develop the habit of praising the Lord 7 times a day.
Create your personalized template of praise-breaks 7 times a day. At 8am, praise the Lord for His incomprehensible “Love”, at 10am praise God for His incredible “Grace”, at 12 noon praise Him for His unfathomable “Mercy”, at 2pm praise God for His life-giving “Word” and at 4pm praise Him for the “anointing” that breaks the yoke. The yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil (Isaiah 10:27b). The yoke of depressing burdens, distressing bondages and debilitating breakdowns can be broken and destroyed only with the power of anointing. As we thank God for the oil of anointing, the flow of the anointing will increase (2 Corinthians 4:15).
Anointing requires refilling, every day, several times a day. When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and was healed, Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him (Mark 5:30). Hence, anointing is a replenishable gift. Our giving, loving and caring will deplete the reserves and hence would need renewing. Praying for others and interceding for breakthroughs drain the anointing. This is why we are fatigued after an intense intercessory prayer. Praise break at 4pm will refill the anointing that has been consumed.
Eight-2-Eight Praise-Breaks:
- Burdens: Praise increases our anointing to break the yoke of burdens. A garment of praise destroys the distressing burden of depression.
- Bondages: Praise breaks bondages and the generational curses. Praise caused the earthquake in the prison and broke the chains not only of Paul and Silas but of all the prisoners (Acts 16). Our praise will cause the deliverance of those around us.
- Breakthroughs: Praise is the anthem that inaugurates breakthroughs. The breakthroughs begin when we raise our gratitude, thanksgiving and praise unto the Lord.
Start the 7-times praise-break discipline from 8am-8pm.
Prayer: Father God, I will discipline myself to praise you 7 times every day. Thank you for the anointing that breaks the yoke. Amen.
